The National Opera House Timisoara represents a great value within the cultural life of Timisoara and stands as one of the most renowned music theaters of Romania. Housed in the illustrious building of the Culture Palace in the city centre, the Opera House presents since 1946 opera, operetta and ballet performances that are highly appreciated both in the Banat region and beyond the borders.
But as in the case of many other cultural institutions of Romania and Europe, governmental contributions are far away from being sufficient in order to keep the high artistical level and to expand the activities constantly.
Within this context, the 'Pro Opera' Society arose from the wish to offer to the Opera of Timisoara a needed additional aid.

Who we are
The 'Pro Opera' Society has been constituted as a non-profit association on June 30, 2006 by Bardeau Holding S.R.L, Helvetica Trading S.R.L., Continental Automotive Romania S.R.L and Mattig Expert Swiss Partners S.R.L.
The mission of the Society is to support the activity of the National Opera House Timisoara in all its forms. This support is essential especially when organizing complex events like the International Festival 'Timisoara Muzicala', where are invited distinguished guests from Romania and abroad.
The Pro Opera members are individuals, families and exponents of the economic sector who are sharing the same passion for the lyrical theater.

What we aim for
In the long run we aim to:
** encourage the cooperation of the Timisoara Opera House with other institutions and great artists from Romania and abroad
** mediate and stimulate human relations on and beyond the stage, as well as to encourage the communication between the artists and the audience
** support young talents who shall in future considerably determinate the quality and the performance of the lyrical theater
** develop a partnership between culture and economy within Timisoara and in the Banat region
