The Opera of Timisoara is since its construction in 1875 of great importance for the cultural life of the Banat region and for regions far over its limits, besides being one of the most renowned music theaters of Romania. But as it is, equally as for many other operas of Europe, governmental contributions are far away from being sufficient to keep the artistical quality and to bring new impetus to the Music Theater.
